The overtime detail assigned to guard President Barack Obama’s home since shortly after his election will end Oct. 1, Chicago Police Department officials said Tuesday.
The end of the detail came after ongoing discussions with the U.S. Secret Service about how to adequately secure the home of a sitting president who lives in an urban area, officials said.
